in this serial the theory of death is that after we die our souls our ejected out of our bodies (and this is the ghost)and the next thing they’re doing is going’ into the light where they should find forgiveness and peace unless they have something to do with alive people and here are some problems that don’t allow ghosts go to the other side(there are many reasons so we’ll explore four of them only) :
1-they don’t understand why they’re dead: this is often the result of a murder and the solution is that the ghosts find the reason and the culpable and punish him or forgive him so they can find peace.
2-they want to protect or help someone: in this case they won’t go to the light unless they’re sure that this person is in total security.
3-they want others to discover their bodies: ghosts need to know that their bodies have been discovered and that their families and friends have said goodbye to them.
4-they need forgiveness: if they made suffer someone they need him to forgive them so they can be in peace.
That’s why the serial created this gift that MELINDA GORDON has which consist in seeing ghosts so she can help them and alive people to communicate and solve their problems.
In the serial Melinda has this gift because it is in her family and it’s transmitted generation to generation.
But in season 4 the serial showed another way to get the gift and that by being confronted to death it means clinically dying so our souls are ejected but come back to our bodies and this is the case of Eli who died for second and got the gift of listening to ghosts.
There are many other theories of death and that depends mostly on beliefs and religions so let see some of them:
1-NOTHING: Some thinks that after we die there’s simply nothing we are just erased from the earth.
2-jujement: after we die our souls are ejected from our bodies and we are judged for what we did in earth if we did more good than bad we go to paradise if it’s the opposite we go to hell.
3-death in Islam: this is a complex procedure that applying the judgment theory but with more explanations for more information just search in Google about Islam.
And many other beliefs and legends about ghosts .
And to close this file we’ll talk about the last theory which the serial explores in season 5(the last season) which is a bit fantasist and complex: Shadows and Lights.
Shadows: bad parts of people that cannot enter in the light.
Lights: Children that entered in the light.
Melinda’s soon have the gift to see both of them.
